Annual Spring Clean Up

Just a reminder that the MCC will hold the Annual Spring Clean Up on Saturday, April 22nd from 9am-12pm.  We will be cleaning many areas inside the clubhouse, raking pine cones and needles, weeding garden beds, cleaning out the back shed, checking the playground equipment, and hopefully painting the interior of the mailbox structure.  Dress for the weather and please come with gloves, garden tools, wheelbarrows, cleaning supplies, and perhaps a ladder. Coffee and tea will be available.

MCC 2023 Annual Letter & Membership Renewal Time

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

The Mazama Community Club was busy this past year with a total of 21 building uses and 15 free events. The picnic shelter, (affectionately called Red’s Shed) has been enjoyed informally by valley visitors and community members and is available for formal rental. Details can be found on our Rent the MCC page.

A major improvement was the installation of 64 mailboxes, available to community members for an annual $30 fee. Our volunteer Mailbox Manager, Linda Grob, Board members, and member volunteers facilitated the process and installation. It will take 5 years to recoup the initial expense of the mailboxes but they will serve many residents who were traveling to Winthrop to receive their mail.

The MCC is now a 501(c)3 organization! Donations are tax deductible and the MCC is eligible to apply for grants. Thank you Claire Bunney and Board members for working on this long term project.

New events at the MCC include Game Nights on the 3rd Tuesday of the month hosted by Linda Schoemaker. Movie Night is happening thanks to member Pat Leigh. The MCC also offers pickle ball and basketball courts, play equipment, and space for community gatherings. Check the Facebook page or website for details. If you have an idea for an event, contact a Board member or email the club.

It’s time for the Annual Cleanup Day to be held Saturday, April 22nd from 9 AM – 12 PM. Bring work gloves, rakes, pruners, tools, etc., to spruce up our 100+ yr. building and property. There will be more information on the Facebook page and website as the date nears, but please mark your calendars.

The World Famous Mazama Pancake Breakfast is scheduled for Saturday, May 27th from 8 – 11:30 AM. A Family Fun Run will be an additional activity with help from members. If you’re interested in volunteering for this event, email mazamacommunityclub@gmail.com and someone will contact you. Otherwise, just come!!

Finally, John Adams, whose lovely water color painting adorns this letter and the website, has printed and donated cards of this work. They are available for sale at the Mazama Store. Proceeds benefit the club.

It’s time to renew your membership for 2023. Please renew now as membership dues are the club’s major source of revenue which cover basic building costs such as heat, plowing, insurance, etc.  You can pay online on our Membership & Donations page  via Stripe, or send out your check today to:
